Another option, recommended for advanced users, is to have a Windows PE disk handy. Windows PE is a miniature version of Window that can boot from a CD, and starting with Windows Vista, a USB Flash Drive. I wrote up directions on how to build a Flash Drive with Windows PE in the Vista book, and there are now also directions on TechNet. You need to have access to a computer that boots, and you need a copy of the Automated Installation Kit (WAIK). Once you burn the AIK image to a disk you can install it and start building your Win PE disk.
Using a Windows PE disk you get access to all the normal tools, like regedit. It has far more features than what you have with the recovery console, but requires a lot more prep work to get started.

If you cannot boot into safe mode you can try using the Recovery Console in Windows XP. This requires you to have a Windows XP CD. Knowledge Base Article 307654 has directions on how to use it. You do not need to follow the instructions for how to install it. In fact, if you have a problem like the 0×00000024 issue above, you probably can not boot from an installed recovery console anyway.
In brief, to boot from the recovery console in XP, do this:
1. Insert your Windows XP CD
2. Boot the computer
3. Select to boot from the CD. On many computers you have to hit a button to do that. On Dell computers the button is usually F12. On HP it is usually ESC.
4. The computer will work for a while and eventually you get a screen that says “Welcome to Setup”. Hit the R key here
5. If will ask you which installation you want to boot. If you have several XP installations on this computer, select the one you want. Of course, if you have several installations, and one still works, you would not need these steps.
6. Type the administrator password for the installation you need to repair.
At this point, you should be at a command prompt. The commands you can run are very limited and they are often different from what you are used to. If you have disabled the intelppm driver on an Intel-based computer and need to re-enable it, run “enable intelppm SERVICE_SYSTEM_START”.
If you need to run chkdsk you can do it from the recovery console window as well. The C: drive is the boot volume in your Windows XP installation. To run the full check run “chkdsk c: /p /r”

Some times it happens that you forgot the password of your memory card and you have lots of your important data in your phone.
So there are two types of methods for recovering the password of your memory card with the help of nokia phone.
For Nokia s60 1st and 2nd edition phones.
1. First Install FExplorer in your phone memory.
2. Got to drive C: , you will find a file called mmcstore
3. Send it to your pc directly and open it in notepad or rename the file.
4. At the end of the file you will find your password.
For Nokia S60 3rd Phones, Nokia N-Series and Nokia E-Series
There is almost no way yet known to hack the memory card password in case of these types of phone but there is a way to do it some of the s60 3rd edition phones and almost all the E-series phones.
The remote lock option in E-Series phone allws you to unlock your phone by sending a sms.
The only thing you have to do is to activate this feature by going to Tools | Settings | Security | Phone and SIM | Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message.
So you have to just send a sms containing your remote lock message that will automatically change your memory card passsword.

You can improve the printing speed of your printer with managing the print spooler option. Basically printer spooler holds your prints for some time then send to printer for print out. By default on most printers, printer spooler option is enabled but you turn off to specify that the file should be sending to the printer and not spooled.
Here printer spooler option might be different location in your printer but on most printers you can turn off by going to Start, Setting then Printers. Now right click on the icon of the printer that you are using. Click Properties and select the Advanced tab. Here click on “Print directly to printer” option. This will tie up your application until the printer has all the data, but your print job should finish more quickly. Printing directly to the printer will also come in handy if your print spooler crashes and you need to print before you reboot your PC.

Well, it’s good to give your computer a good scrubbing once a while you know. Not literally though!
If you think that your computer is still brand new and does not require “any kind of additional maintenance as it will spoil the BRAND NEW system within” then you are wrong, like TOTALLY.
Imagine if you DON’T MANAGE your computer well. All those unwanted files get piled up and before you know it, it is a junkyard behind your CPU.
This would also mean that your computer that used to be running at the speed of light (or sound!) is now going at crawling speed. No one has to tell you that this is just terrible! As the computer user, you’d probably give up just after 5 minutes starring at the monitor, which refuse to upload anything.
So, having problems with your computer? Or you care too much to let your computer to fall into such a state? Then I’ve got the RIGHT concoction for you and your computer!

Meet the Computer Doctor. He is brilliant software that gives check ups on your computer and detect any problems that might be affecting your computer and it’s performance. He will then provide a solution and instantly solve it for you too. How helpful. This Computer Doctor refers to non other than the Computer Diagnostics Software. Just like the human doctor, it gives your computer regular check ups, spot problems (if there are any) and solves it for you right before your eyes. You don’t even need to lift a finger. Easy, convenient and definitely, reliable. But why bother with computer checkups? You got to realize the importance of a computer checkup before you get to appreciate the Computer Doctor himself.
There is no need to argue whether or not the computer diagnostic software is important for computers. This software is specially created to halt any major errors that might happen within your system. As such, all potential errors are eliminated even before it reaches into your computer system. As a computer user, if you are experiencing problems like blue error screens and such, maybe it’s time to grab a computer diagnostic software to identify your computer problems. The software will run tests on your computer and upon completion, it will give you a full report of all the tasks that is has done and completed. You no longer need to scratch your head to figure out what in the world is wrong with your computer. Simply run this diagnostic and your computer is good to go. TuneUp, TouchStone Software, Network Associates software and Symantec are just some of the more popular brands used.
Of course, there are also other components of the computer that you ought to have a look at in order to give your computer a thorough checkup. Ever heard of the registry? If you are shaking your head than it’s ok. Not everyone knows the existence of this registry. Despite its hidden existence, the function of the registry is one that is pretty important. The registry helps to store login information of users and applications. In the long run, the files in the registry will eventually get corrupted, hence they might go missing and false information will thus be replaced. The computer will start to slow down, as it will have to go about the false entries before it gets to the right one. As a computer user, you can choose to do the registry clean up manually. Otherwise, you can use the PD diagnostic software.
Disk de-fragmentation is as important as clearing your registry. Though, be prepared to give your computer a night off as it takes hours before the de-fragmentation completes. This is partly due to the fact that our hard drives are huge. Although it can be pretty time consuming, it is highly important the computer goes through disk de-fragmentation as it helps to tidy up the data that are stored within the computer. The data will then be arranged such that the computer’s memory is properly utilized.
Computer checkups are a must, but remember not to over do it. Just keep in mind to properly maintain it so that it can serve your longer. Regular checkups can help you to save big bucks. So if you want your computer to live as long as you do, time to seek the Computer Doctor for help.

Before buying a graphic card , there are several things that you should know. I’ll tell you two things that you should look before buying your first graphic card.
1. Memory
Memory is not everything. Maybe some of us out there will think that it is better if the graphic card has a higher memory. Because it will perform faster and better graphic. Well..you’re right and wrong.
You’re right if you have a good CPU. Then, the graphic card will perform faster and better. However, if you have a bad or an old CPU, then the graphic card will not perform at optimum level.
2. GPU
Graphic Processing Unit(GPU) is something that you must know before buying a graphic card. A GPU is a dedicated memory for graphic and the two best GPUs are “Nvidia GeForce” or “ATI Radeon”.
For the best graphic performance, use these two types of GPU. Basically, you can say the higher the price the better the graphic card is. A graphic card model number is also important.
For example, rather than buying a Radeon X1300 with 512MB, it is better for you to buy a Radeon X1600 with 256MB memory.
If the model number has something like GT,GTX,XT or XTX,it would be better. You also can look at the graphic card box. Sometimes the manufacturer will show the graphic card’s speed there.
Hope these helps.
